The K–8 Choir Teacher will lead weekly on‑campus choir classes, introduce students to the fundamentals of vocal technique, and nurture a love for singing rooted in a Christian and classical understanding of music. This teacher will prepare students for seasonal performances and collaborate with faculty to integrate music into the broader life of the school.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach choir classes for K–8 students on designated on‑campus days
- Introduce age‑appropriate vocal training, music literacy, and choral repertoire
- Select sacred and classical pieces that support the school’s mission and liturgical calendar
- Prepare and direct students for concerts, programs, and special events
- Communicate clearly with parents in a hybrid learning environment
- Maintain a joyful, orderly, and Christ‑centered classroom atmosphere
- Collaborate with administrators and teachers to support school culture and events
Qualifications
- A personal commitment to the Christian faith and alignment with the school’s statement of faith
- Experience teaching music or leading choirs (school, church, or community)
- Knowledge of vocal pedagogy and choral methods for young singers
- Familiarity with classical education or willingness to learn
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to inspire students and cultivate a love for music
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Music Education, Vocal Performance, or related field
- Experience in a classical Christian school setting
- Piano proficiency for rehearsal support (helpful but not required)
